A Day In the Life of Pohang and Wonderland
I figured, since most of what I do here in Pohang is walk to work, work, and then walk home from work, the most appropriate kind of post would be a "day in the life of" where I show some pictures of my surroundings and students. Good idea? I think so.

The street where I live in Ei-Dong (or Daejam-Dong...I haven't quite figured it out yet) on my way to the school.

Also on my way to work.

Heading out of my little neighborhood into the bigger part of Ei-Dong

Backroads in Ei-Dong on the way to work

mmm...the best soup ever. also on the way to/from work.

This is the street where the school is...it's down there on the left (yellow sign)

Ta Da! Pohang Wonderland, at last!
BT4: First Class of the Morning
They're actually sitting...quietly. It's amazing!

Alice and Tristan

Tom doing his work

Alex, Aron, and Harris

The princesses of BT4
BT2/BT1: My shorter writing classes
Oh Martin...so strange. His english is incredible, but he's so soft spoken and just really funny about stuff. Here he's holding up his pencil, thinking i'm going to take a picture.

Here he is again, posing with more school supplies.

BT1 gals chatting away, as usual.

Mark is really excited about his chocolate milk. Daniel is really excited about...well...Mark.
BT5: The middle part of my day...and the worst

Tim and Danny. That's pretty much how I feel about Tim, too.
just a glance at BT5 being pretty well-behaved. Today was a good day, haha.

Tiger. Yep. That's his name.

I get so much amusement from this photo and the next one. This is Jenny posing for the camera.

And...this is Jenny most of the time. She's not really crying. She's just perfected that face for all occasions on which she is denied something...anything that she wants. I have to get a video clip of the way she says "TeaCHERRrrrrrr"...it's beyond ridiculous.
MA4: The smart kids
That's Lily (the one in the pink)...I think she speaks better English than anyone at that school. There are only 4 of them in the class. Lily, Kai (the boy you see there yelling), Brian (not shown), and Amy, who popped up briefly but spent the rest of the class running away from the camera. They are a really nice break after BT5. Obviously much older, too.
MA2, TB1/MB7 and MB5
No pictures or video just yet, but it is really important to note that the last half of my day is a million times easier than the first half. I'll have stuff up for them soon enough. MA2 is actually a lot of fun. There's a kid in there, Leo, who is obsessed with the movie Titanic. Apparently the lady who gave him the Western name "Leo" didn't even know this...which I think is hilarious.
Ok that will have to do for now. Life as a kindergarten-2nd grade teacher is beginning to grow on me, but as always, administration in a hagwon is a challenge.
Hope all is well on whatever side of the world you're on!
